NJ Motorcyclist Popped Wheelie, Flipped The Bird, Fled Police: PD
Police say the driver told them "he was being stupid and trying to have a little fun."
BLAIRSTOWN, NJ — A Hardwick motorcyclist faces several charges after "having a little fun" popping a wheeling, giving police the middle finger, and fleeing from police when they tried to pull him over, Blairstown police said.
Blairstown police were leaving a medical call on June 8 when they saw a motorcyclist speeding down Main Street. Police say the motorcyclist popped a wheelie, gave officers the middle finger, and lead officers on a high-speed chase when they tried to pull him over.
The motorcyclist lead police onto Highway 94, passing cars over the double yellow line and right over the fog line, police said. At that point, police stopped the chase because it was becoming too dangerous. The motorcyclist was spotted traveling the opposite direction shortly after the chase was stopped.

Police eventually stopped the driver, who they identified as Austin Carey. Carey told police he had just left his home to fill his tires, but police say dash cameras identified Carey as the driver on a different motorcycle, and found the first motorcycle at Carey's home.
Carey was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where police say he admitted to eluding and said "he was tired of being stopped by police and he was being stupid and trying to have a little fun."
