St. Patrick's Day Events Announced For Long Valley For 2023

Prepare to put on your best green outfit for a weekend of Irish-themed entertainment.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — For those looking to experience the luck of the Irish, next weekend cannot come soon enough.

Here is a list of all the St. Patrick's Day events in and around Long Valley. You can wear green to celebrate your heritage or simply to blend in and have fun.

The Washington Township Recreation Department will celebrate St. Patrick's Day in person for the first time since the pandemic on March 17 with their Annual St. Patrick's Day Luncheon.

The annual "luck of the Irish" luncheon will be held at the Long Valley Presbyterian Church, 39 Bartley Road, Long Valley, at 11 a.m. According to officials, the "Valley Restaurant & Pub" will cater an American-Irish Traditional Lunch with Lent attendees in mind.

Kenny Cunningham, a solo acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter from Liverpool, England, will be performing at the community event. Cunningham has performed all over the world and, with his distinct voice and fingerpicking guitar style, will bring a taste of Ireland to the celebration.

Those interested in attending this luncheon must pre-register. A nonrefundable resident fee of $13 and/or $15 for non-residents is required by the March 13 deadline. Payments can be paid online by clicking on this link: https://magic.collectorsolutions.com/magic-ui/Login/washington-township.

Long Valley Brew Pub will also host St. Patrick's Day festivities, including a specials menu available Friday, March 17 through the weekend.

It's also never too early to get excited about the Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade, one of the county's most anticipated events.

The 2023 Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place in Morristown on Saturday, March 11, at 12 p.m. Since 1979, the Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade has been the largest in New Jersey, with over 20 bands and over 4,000 marchers.

Before the parade, Irish dancers will perform, as will the Thomas Jefferson/Sussex Schools Band and Morristown High School, who will perform from the play "Cinderella."

The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Morris County and the Irish American Association of Northwest New Jersey organize the Morris County St. Patrick's Day Parade. It is entirely supported by donations, with no cost to the general public.
