Take 'Action' With Applebee's Fundraiser To Support Goryeb Children's Hospital

Long Valley teen continues support for medical center after suffering own illness.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. - Zach Rice has walked a long way since his days at Goryeb Children’s Hospital.

The Long Valley teen who underwent surgeries and therapies as a boy for a rare condition, avascular necrosis of the hip, is now in his fourth year of organizing the annual Action For Distraction fundraiser to benefit the children’s hospital.

Rice launched the event in 2013, which has raised more than $50,000 to date. The fundraiser provides new tech toys and other forms of β€œdistraction” for young patients at Goryeb.
