Washington Twp. Police Assist In Arrest Of Chester Burglar

The suspect was burglarizing properties near Skinner Trail and Chestnut Drive in Chester Township, police said.

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Washington Township police officers assisted in the arrest of a Chester Township burglar, officials said.

At around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Chester Police were called out to Skinner Trail and Chestnut Drive responding to reports of burglaries.

Washington Township Police assisted Chester Township authorities alongside Mendham Township. Police, the Morris County Sheriff's Office Patrol & K-9 Unit, and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management apprehended the suspect, officials said.

The suspect, a man, was arrested, processed, and taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility, awaiting court proceedings, according to officials.

Neither responding police departments nor the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has released the identity of the accused, his charges, or specific details of his arrest at this time.

“We commend the officers who were working and would like to especially thank the agencies who assisted with this coordinated apprehension,” a Chester Police Department statement read.
