WATCH: Wolfpack Baseball Teams Pitch In At Community FoodBank

A win, then an assist to kick off the 2016 season for West Morris Central.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – It was a pretty fulfilling weekend for the West Morris Central Wolfpack both on and off the field.

The varsity squad opened up the 2016 campaign Friday against Mt. Olive with an 8-0 shutout win under new head coach Tom Reindel, then spent part of Saturday in Hillside, New Jersey helping sort and organize tons of donations at the Community Food Bank.

More than 40 players and coaches from the Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams got to work in a volunteer effort to provide assistance to thousands of in-need families.

The Community FoodBank helps families in Passaic, Bergen, Morris, Essex, Hunterdon, Union, Somerset, and Middlesex counties. The FoodBank was launched in 1975 by Kathleen DiChiara out of the back of her car. DiChiara retired in 2015 as the President and CEO, and the Hillside location now includes a 285,000 square-foot facility.
