Letter to the Editor: Your Vote Counts

Your vote can make a difference in Primary Election.

As Chair of the Madison Republican Committee I would like to ask  registered Republicans in both Madison and Morris County to make a serious effort to vote in the Primary Election on Tuesday, June 8. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This year, 11 candidates have filed for the three freeholders positions to be voted on in the General Election November 2. A "candidate night" is being held at the Chatham Township Borough Hall on Thursday, May 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and all 11 candidates will be there. In addition there is a primary contest this year for Sheriff and for Congress.

There is ample time available to file to vote by mail ballot. There is a simple form available on the Morris County Election Board web site (www.morriselections.org ) which you can print, fill out and mail back in. A ballot will be sent to your home which can be filled out and mailed back to the County Board of Elections. It must be received prior to the close of polls on Election Day.
