MADISON, NJ — Madison High School is the 26th best high school in the state, according to new rankings published by New Jersey Monthly.
The high school was ranked 23nd last year, for an improvement of six places. McNair Academy in Jersey City snagged the top spot this year. The school earns its high marks for having a low student to teacher ratio (1:13), high number of AP classes (27), and an impressive 91.9% graduation rate.
To arrive at the rankings, NJ Monthly looked at the state Department of Education's most recent New Jersey School Performance Reports. Only public high schools were included in the rankings. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
