N.Y. Non-Profit Offers Pit Bull Adoption Course In Madison
Animal Farm Foundation is offering a class which focuses on "overcoming real or perceived barriers to pit bull dog adoptions."

MADISON, N.J.- Animal Farm Foundation is offering a one-day class at St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Centerin Madison on Wednesday for individuals in the animal welfare industry.
The class is part of Animal Farm Foundation's Internship for Shelters Program, which focuses on "overcoming real or perceived barriers to pit bull dog adoptions," according to a press release.
Shelter employees and volunteers will provide lessons on:

- How to make safe and appropriate decisions about the dogs in their care;
- How to remove breed labels to increase pit bull dogs chance of adoption;
- How to keep shelter dogs happy and healthy in an unfamiliar environment until they are adopted;
- How to utilize social media to help build a brand and increase the community engagement by their organization.
There will also be presentations on kennel enrichment and behavior modification, as well as "The Breed ID Game."
The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 5:15 p.m.
