MLB Pitcher Covering Pet Adoption Fees At Madison Animal Shelter
New York Mets pitcher Max Scherzer and his wife, St. Hubert's board member Erica Scherzer, helped dogs find their forever homes. During the Spring, the Scherzers offered to pay the adoption fees for all dogs weighing more than 30 pounds who are adopted from St. Hubert's.

Home Invasion, Attempted Car Theft Overnight In Madison, Police Say
This year saw an increase in burglary crime in Morris County, and Madison Borough was no exception. In September, two separate attempted theft incidents occurred in the borough, prompting police to issue an alert to the public and issue a new set of safety tips and precautions.
Driver In Crash That Killed Chatham Dad Of 4 Sentenced
A Madison mother was sentenced in September after previously admitting to driving drunk when her vehicle collided with a Jeep in Chatham Township in March, killing a married father of four.
Yulia Raynova was sentenced to six years in prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, according to Assistant Prosecutor Tara Wang.
Drew Professor Wins 'Jeopardy!' Putting Madison In The Spotlight
Brianne Barker, an associate professor at Drew University fulfilled a lifelong dream this August by not only competing in but also winning Jeopardy. Barker defeated returning champion Ed Coulson and challenger Colleen Birney with that and other correct responses, winning $11,700.
As a researcher at Drew, Barker focuses on immunology, specifically, she is focused on understanding how PRR recognition of HIV and related viruses leads to the T cell death and immune dysfunction seen in AIDS.
In July, a car collision near an apartment complex at 17 Madison Avenue killed one person. Police did not consider the incident suspicious, according to borough officials.
Mayor Conley Speaks On Drew University Lawsuit Against Madison
Mayor Bob Conley addressed the ongoing court settlement between the Borough of Madison and Drew University for the first time in July.
Drew had claimed that Madison engaged in years of bad-faith land acquisition negotiations with the university as it negotiated its third-round affordable housing settlement, according to a brief filed in the state Superior Court in Morristown.
Madison Apartment Complex Expansion Approved By Planning Board
Madison Mall Apartments, LLC, applied to add 40 residential units to the 64 existing units at 286-294 Main Street, for a total of 104 units. The development includes 40 new residential units, including 6 one-bedroom units, 32 two-bedroom units and 2 three-bedroom units.
According to Architect Bill Feinberg of Feinberg & Associates, all of the development's public areas are ADA accessible, and all units are ADA adaptable.
