Water Main Break Affecting Water Pressure In Madison
The Madison Department of Public Works is currently on the scene repairing the break.
MADISON, NJ — A water main break has left several Madison residents with little to no water pressure on Tuesday afternoon as members of the Water Department aim to repair the damage.
The current water main break is on Knollwood Avenue between Hillview Avenue and Rosedale Avenue, according to Madison officials, although the cause of the break is not immediately clear.
Madison Borough has been dealing with an increased level of water main breaks, with a cluster of them occurring over the summer months. In July and August, there were six water main breaks, according to borough engineer Bob Vogel.

Vogel previously claimed that there were a few distinct causes for the breaks.
The water operations staff believes that paving and milling crews are not being as cautious as they ought to be around hydrants and active valves, especially during shutoff times. "We had a lot of accidents this year," Vogel said.

The second explanation is simply due to the age of the system.
According to Madison officials, people in the area may experience low water pressure until the break is repaired.
