Despite Being Dragged 30 ft., Accident Victim Only Suffers Broken Fibia
Police say the 27-year-old victim was pinned underneath a Nissan Murano.
Police say the 27-year-old woman who was pinned under a Nissan Murano while riding her bicycle on Ridgedale Avenue on Tuesday morning only suffered a broken fibia.
Sgt. John Keymer of the Madison Police Depatment said Madison resident Pei Li only suffered the broken leg despite being dragged for about 30 feet by the 2007 green Murano. The Murano was driven by 63-year-old Christine Medeiros, also a Madison resident, who police say apparently hit the gas instead of the brake at the time of the accident. Li and her bicycle were dragged and pinned under the vehicle.
Captain Jeffrey Paul, spokesperson for Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi, said Li was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
