3-D Printed 'Ghost Gun' Found During Traffic Stop On Route 17

Police stopped a car on Route 17 and found a loaded revolver and a "ghost gun," they said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Police who stopped a car on Route 17 on Sunday found a loaded revolver and an apparent 3-D printed gun, they said.

The Mahwah police said that around 9:45 a.m.., Officer Michael Silano stopped a Mazda sedan on Route 17 North near Ramapo Valley Road for motor vehicle violations.

The occupants, two adult men and three juveniles, "gave conflicting stories as to what they were doing in the area," police said.

Other police and a K-9 unit came as backup.

Under the driver's seat, police found a "ghost gun" that appeared to be 3-D printed, they said.

Police also found a loaded 45 caliber revolver in the back seat, they said.

Connor Metheny, 21, and Carter Allen, 18, from Watertown, N.Y. were taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a hearing.

They were charged with possession of a "ghost gun," which is a firearm without a serial number, and two counts of handgun possession.

The other three people in the car were juveniles and were taken to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center in Teterboro, police said.
