30-Day Closure Of Route 17 Southbound Ramp 'Necessary' For Maintenance
Starting Monday, the on-ramp to Route 17 South at Lake Street in Bergen County will be closed for approximately one month, officials said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Starting Monday, the Route 17 southbound ramp from Lake Street will be closed for construction for approximately 30 days, according to officials.
"Please plan alternate route," the Ramsey, Bergen County, Office of Emergency Management said in a Facebook post announcing the one-month closure.
The closure, the state Department of Transportation said, is necessary for drainage work, which is part of a $10.5 million state-funded project to repair stormwater infrastructure at locations in eight New Jersey counties.

As a result, southbound motorists will be directed to follow a signed detour:
Motorists will continue on Lake Avenue, which becomes East Crescent Avenue, take the ramp onto Route 17 northbound, proceed to the Lake Street/Ramsey exit, continue on Lake Street, turn right onto East Crescent Avenue and then take another southbound ramp.
