Autistic Teen Found in Oakland After Vanishing from Mahwah's Campgaw Ski Mountain

It appears the boy walked "quite a distance" and knocked on the door of an Oakland home around 4:45 a.m.

A non-verbal autistic teen boy is being hospitalized for precautionary measures after vanishing while snow-tubing with his family in Mahwah and turning up in Oakland.

The boy and his family were at the Campgaw Ski Mountain Resort Friday night when he was last seen “going up the hill but not coming down” around 9:30 p.m., Cliffview Pilot reported. Citizens and various agencies searched for the boy, who later turned up barefoot in Oakland.
