Baby Kicked In Back By Mother Suspected Of Shoplifting At Bergen Co. Walmart: Police

A mother suspected of shoplifting at the Teterboro Walmart was accused of then kicking her infant daughter in the back, cops said.

TETERBORO, NJ — A mother being held in connection with a suspected shoplifting incident was accused of then kicking her infant daughter in the back, Moonachie police Lt. Jeff Napolitano said.

Jamira McDaniel, 23, of Paterson, was caught shoplifting by Teterboro Walmart Asset Protection personnel, and after being escorted to the security office, she placed her 1-year-old daughter on the floor and kicked her, Napolitano said.

McDaniel, upset by the girl who was now screaming and crying while being held by her aunt (i.e. the defendant's sister who was with her at the store), began punching walls and yelling for the baby to stop crying, police said.
