Why are you running for this office?

I am running for Bergen County Commissioner for the same reasons that I ran last year — for my children, your children and their futures. I want to make sure that my children don’t grow up in a Bergen County where they are learning nonsense about how our country is racist and inappropriate subject matters about sex and gender identity. Our kids should be learning about core subjects such as math, science and history. Our public schools should be equipping our children with the tools and knowledge they need to secure good paying jobs. Lastly, our public school system should not be indoctrinating our children. We need to teach our children how to think, not what to think.

Additionally, I’m running to counter the Democrats’ war on the three “F” words— family, faith and freedom. The Democrats of today are doing everything they can to remake America into a place that is unrecognizable to our Founding Fathers. I want to make sure that accountability, oversight and responsibility are back on the table in Bergen County. For over a decade, we’ve been mired in a one party county and the effects of that have been quite detrimental. The people of Bergen County no longer have a voice and that leads to mismanagement of county finances, county prerogatives and county decisions. While everyday citizens are struggling to make ends meet, the county spends $1.5 million dollars on bonuses for nonessential county employees. This needs to stop.

What do you feel is the most important issue facing constituents, and what do you intend to do to repair or resolve it?

The constituents of Bergen County care about the three “C’s”. They care about cost of living, crime and our children. Cost of everything today is rising— from gasoline to groceries and everything in between. Under Democratic rule, crime has not only skyrocketed but has almost become a way of life. No one feels confident about leaving their cars in their driveways anymore because of fear that it may be stolen. That’s ludicrous but unfortunately, that is the reality we live in today. A few weeks ago, Teaneck police caught two suspects who were in possession of 3 kilos of fentanyl which is enough to kill everybody in Bergen County one and a half times over. To make matters worse, these suspects were released the next day. This is absurd, dangerous and unconscionable. As mentioned earlier, most people in Bergen County care about their children and why wouldn’t they? Children are our future. Unfortunately though, our public school system is more interested in indoctrinating them than educating them and that clearly needs to stop. Parents have rights over their children’s education but under today’s political climate, parents are made the enemy and that is despicable.

What differentiates you from other candidates?

I feel my unique educational and professional background would be a great benefit to the people of Bergen County. I’ve worked in the private sector, the public sector and the academic realm. My work and education has given me the opportunity to interact with individuals of different cultures and backgrounds and has given me a unique insight into the various needs of people from different perspectives. I am a self-starter and won’t take “no” for an answer. I am determined to do what is right for the people of Bergen County. A Commissioner Lin will always place people above politics and will always champion right over wrong.

What other issues or ideas do you feel deserve attention?

As mentioned earlier, the lack of oversight on the County level has been a disastrous by-product of one party rule. This is how a county budget goes up by 31% in one single year to $741 million dollars— in a year when most government buildings and services are shut down. We then later find out that this money was being doled out to political appointees and sweet heart jobs. There needs to be a county wide audit of all expenses and that will be a key initiative of mine once I’m in office.

What accomplishments in your past demonstrates that you are the best candidate for this job?

I think my accomplishments speak for themselves and I encourage all readers to check out my website (www.winwithlin.us) to learn more about me and my background. Accomplishments are nice but the real reason I believe I would be the best candidate for this job is due to my resolve. I do not believe that there is anything that anybody can not do if they set their mind and heart to it. That’s the principle I’ve embodied my whole life and that’s the mind frame I will bring to the county level.

From being the first and only American in history to receive graduate degrees from a prestigious university in Asia, to teaching at some of the best universities in Asia and starting my consulting practice while executive producing and hosting my own radio show, there is nothing that I can’t do if I put my mind to it. We need that type of mentality in government.

Do you want to tell voters anything else about you or your positions?

I would just tell all the disgruntled and dissatisfied voters out there to VOTE! Be the change you want to see. If you don’t like the way things are going then please go out and vote. Complaining on Facebook or to your friends and family may be cathartic but it won’t do anything to effectuate actual change. So whether you plan on voting early, by mail or in person— please, just VOTE! And obviously, I would hope you vote for me and my entire team on COLUMN 1!
