Bergen Man Sexually Abused Child For Years: Prosecutor

Carl Johnson, 64, allegedly abused an Englewood girl several times between 2009 to 2015.

A Bergen County sexually abused a child, who was younger than 13, for years, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Carl Johnson, 64, of Hacknesack was arrested after the Englewood Police Department received a report in March that he "engaged in sexual acts" with a child, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

Englewood police and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit investigated and arrested Johnson Nov. 21, Calo said.

Johnson was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail.
