A person was charged with 23 counts of animal cruelty after police found multiple cats and dogs not being cared for in Fair Lawn, cops said.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — A 37-year-old was recently charged with 23 counts of animal cruelty, after multiple cats and dogs were found to be "uncared for" in her Fair Lawn home, borough police Sgt. Brian Metzler said Wednesday.
Julie Alaimo was charged after she had apparently left the animals in the home with no one to care for them; the case originated a month ago and concluded on Wednesday, Metzler said.
Authorities responded to a complaint of animals not cared for inside the home, and 21 cats and two dogs were removed by Animal Control, police said.
