Driver Hospitalized After Dump Truck Overturns In Mahwah: Authorities

A driver behind the wheel of a dump truck was taken to an area hospital after the vehicle overturned down an embankment, authorities said.

MAHWAH, NJ — A dump truck overturned on Route 287, spilled its load of asphalt and rolled down an embankment Wednesday afternoon, a Mahwah emergency rescue service said on Facebook.

The rollover crash occurred at 2:58 p.m. at Milepost 64 on the interstate highway, according to authorities.

The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said.

Route 287 North is shut down, and traffic is being diverted, authorities said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, Goez said.
