Foundation is set up in memory of a late Mahwah High School graduate.

An annual charity basketball game held at Mahwah High School earlier this month raised more money this year than the event ever has before.
According to DZ Foundation Founder Jordan Kaplan, this year's charity basketball tournament raised $16,000, to be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. This year marked the third annual event. Last year, the event raised $15,000, and the year before $8,300.
The DZ Foundation and annual 3-on-3 tournament honor a Mahwah graduate who died in 2011.
Dan Zolotorofe suffered from Type I Diabetes, and died after suffering a heart attack caused by complications from the disease. Not long after his death, a group of Zolotorofe’s friends formed theDZ Foundation, a charity that raises money to support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation research, and award scholarships to a Mahwah High School students in Dan’s name.
