Fire Engulfs Tractor-Trailer In Mahwah: State Police

A truck parked on the shoulder of Route 287 caught fire and became engulfed Tuesday afternoon, police said.

MAHWAH, NJ — A tractor-trailer registered to a Canadian trucking company caught fire and became engulfed in flames Tuesday afternoon in Mahwah, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said.

The semi-truck, registered to Guru Nanak Transport, was parked on the shoulder of Route 287 when the fire started around 3:35 p.m., Goez said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The center and right lanes were closed and reopened just before 5 p.m., police said.
