Loaded Handguns, Rifle Ammo Seized; 2 Georgia Men Charged In Bergen Co.: Police
Fairview police seized two firearms loaded with hollow point bullets, and .223 rifle ammunition in a motor vehicle stop, police said.
FAIRVIEW, NJ — Two Georgia men were caught illegally carrying loaded guns in their Ford Mustang, while purportedly driving into New York to visit family on Saturday, Fairview police Capt. Michael Martic said.
Officers found the two Glock 19 handguns — both loaded with hollow-point bullets — after pulling over the car on 91st Street and Broad Avenue in North Bergen about 9 p.m., police said.
Officers spotted one gun in the glove compartment, when Fitzpatrick went to retrieve his paperwork, and later found another in the trunk, Martic said.

The car was towed to a secure impound, police said.
Fitzpatrick said the gun in the trunk was legally registered to him; Hill said the firearm in the glove compartment was his and illegally purchased in Georgia, according to police.
Both said they had driven from Georgia to visit family in New York.
Fitzpatrick and Hill were charged with transporting an unsecured handgun, possession of hollow point bullets, and possession of a large capacity magazine, officials said.
Fitzpatrick was released on a summons complaint.
Hill was also charged with possession of an unlawful weapon, and remanded to the Bergen County Jail, according to an official statement.
