Mahwah Couple Arrested In Opioid Bust: Cops

Aniello Famelico, 62, and his wife Linda, 61, were arrested during an opioid distribution investigation.

MAHWAH, NJ — A township couple was arrested Friday during a police investigation into opioid distribution in town, police announced.

Police found Oxycodone, DAB, also known as hash oil, alprazalom, and $16,000 in cash in Aniello and Linda Famelico's home late Friday night, said Police Chief James Batelli.

Mahwah Police officers found the drugs and money while conducting a search warrant at the couple's Quince Court home, Batelli said.

Aniello Famelico, 62, was arrested at the home. His wife Linda, 61, was arrested at a local restaurant, where she works as a delivery person, Batelli said. They were each charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, possession of DAB, forgery, money laundering, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released under the New Jersey Bail Reform Act pending a court appearance Dec. 28.

Famelico and his wife were arrested in 2016 by law enforcement authorities in Dockland County, New York on similar charges, Batelli said.
