Mahwah Library Starting Summer Reading Program

Summer is starting to sizzle and the Mahwah Public Library is thrilled to offer a great variety of programs and promotions to usher in the warmer weather.  We're kicking off our dynamic Summer Music Festival, spotlighting an amazing array of talented musicians, and our tremendously popular Summer Reading Programs for adult, teens and children at the end of June.

The fun starts on June 17 for teens, who will get to take over the library after-hours on Friday, June 28, and continues on June 26 with a concert program by Kurt Gallagher for kids. Of course, we have a great a summer reading club for adults, too, starting with Christina Baker Kline visiting the Library on Monday June 24 to discuss her new book, Orphan Train: A Novel.  Registration is open now and the fun runs all summer long with popular Summer Reading Programs for adults, teens and kids.

Starting June 24th, we’re launching our popular summer Reader Rewards Card program giving readers the opportunity to win some great swag just for visiting the Library! We're changing things up a little this year to make it easier to win great prizes just for reading.  Every day a cardholder visit the Library to borrow a book, magazine, DVD or CD, we'll stamp their Reader Rewards card.  They’ll win cool prizes like car magnets, t-shirts, mugs and tote bags for every ten stamps you receive.  Plus, after each ten stamps, they’ll be entered to win our raffle prize of a new Kindle eReader.  Reader Rewards start June 24th and run until Labor Day. 

The Library is also going to the pool again this year.  By popular demand, Mr. Wilson, our Children’s Librarian, will be hosting “Storytime and Snacks” at the Mahwah town pool periodically throughout the summer!  They’ll be great stories and snacks for kids to enjoy while they take a break from the water.
