Mahwah Planning Board Member Named NJ Municipal Managers Assoc. President

MAHWAH, NJ — A Mahwah Planning Board member was just named president of the New Jersey Municipal Managers Association, a professional organization of public officials and administrators whose goal is to improve the quality of local government.
Stephen LoIacono, who is also Borough Administrator in North Arlington, was sworn in by North Arlington Mayor Dan Pronti. LoIacono was administered the oath of office in a short ceremony at a recent conference of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities, where LoIacono serves on the legislative committee.
"We are very proud of Steve," the Borough of North Arlington said in a Facebook post.

"Steve is a wealth of knowledge and information," Mayor Pronti said, also on Facebook.
LoIcano's will serve a one-year term for the organization, which counts nearly 300 municipal managers and administrators as members.

"(NJMMA) works closely with county and state officials in protecting the interests of the municipalities and residents they serve," the Borough of North Arlington said. "Members exchange real-life experiences and develop best practices that can be used in their daily work in local government."
Before being appointed in North Arlington, LoIacono served as Borough Manager in Lodi and City Manager in Hackensack. He is also presently Commissioner of the Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority, located in Waldwick.
