MAHWAH, NJ — Don't let this news stop you from enjoying the remainder of the summer, but the first bell of the 2019-20 school year is about a week away.

Here are some key dates for the upcoming school year:

  • First day of school: Sept. 5
  • Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 30
  • Yom Kippur: Oct. 9
  • Columbus Day: Oct. 14
  • Single Session: Nov. 4-6
  • No School/NJEA Conference: Nov. 7-8
  • Thanksgiving break: Single Session Nov. 27, off Nov. 28-29
  • Single Session: Dec. 20
  • Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school closed: Jan. 20
  • President's Day, school closed: Feb. 17, Feb. 18
  • Spring break: April 6-10
  • Memorial Day, school closed: May 22-25
  • Single Session/Last Day of School: June 23

Noting these dates are good way to prepare for going back to school. But don't forget the school supplies.
