Man Caught Driving 'Re-Vinned' Car Stolen 2 Years Ago: Bergen Co. Prosecutor
A man was charged in connection with a car that had a fraudulent VIN plate and was stolen approximately two years ago, the prosecutor said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man was caught Tuesday driving a car through Bergen County that was reported stolen out of New York approximately two years ago, County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Anderson Casilla Furcal, 25, of Elizabeth, was arrested after authorities determined the vehicle identification number on the car was fraudulent, and that the vehicle had been "re-vinned," or cloned, Musella said.
Furcal was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property. He was released on his own recognizance pending an initial court appearance, the prosecutor's office said.
