Memorial Day Weekend: Fun at Annual Fishing Contest

Mahwah’s youngest anglers can prepare for a day of competitive fishing this Saturday.

According to a release from the township Rec Department, which runs the event each year, the event is planned to start at 10 a.m. at Silver Creek Pond, at the intersection of Airmont Avenue and Airmount Road.

The 24th annual contest is open to residents ages 5 through 13, and is catch and release only. 

Prizes will be awarded to contestants for both amount of fish caught, and size of fish caught. Get more information on the township website.
