Missing Mahwah Man Found Dead After Days-Long Search

MAHWAH, NJ — A Mahwah dad who was reported missing Nov. 13 by his wife was found dead of an apparent suicide over the weekend at Ramapo Valley County Reservation by a hiker, the Bergen County Sheriff's Office said.

Hector Zamorano, 41, was found at the park's Vista Loop Trail after a days-long, resource-intensive search by multiple law enforcement agencies.

Zamorano's wife Maria Luceromena told police that he had left home at 9 a.m. that Sunday without his phone or any reference as to where he was going.
