NJ Governor Swears In Bergen Co. Commissioners To Third Terms
All three incumbent Democrats who were re-elected to the Bergen County Commissioner Board were sworn in this week to their third terms.

HACKENSACK, NJ — All three incumbent Democrats re-elected to the Bergen County Commissioner Board were sworn in to their third terms Wednesday by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy.
Commissioners Tom Sullivan (D-Montvale), Germaine Ortiz (D-Emerson) and Mary Amoroso (D-Mahwah) were each sworn in at the Board's annual reorganization meeting. Also in attendance were County Executive Jim Tedesco, U.S. District Court Judge Julien Neals and state Sen. Paul Sarlo.
Sullivan, Ortiz and Amoroso retained their seats, defeating Republican challengers Douglas Holden, Ronald Joseph Lin and Deirdre Paul in the November election.

Sullivan, who was elected Board Chair, said this year will be about infrastructure — working to improve roads, bridges and culverts, and to widen the Route 17 bottleneck.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to once again represent the residents of our great county,” Sullivan said. "My colleagues and I are thrilled with the accomplishments we have had thus far but we are looking forward to building on that success.”

“It brings me great joy to return for another term and serve as Vice Chairwoman of the Board,” Ortiz said.

“I am so thankful for the continued support of our community,” Amoroso.
