Police Investigating Fairview Homicide
The victim, a 23-year-old man, was dead from apparent gunshot wounds, the Bergen County prosecutor said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Authorities are investigating a homicide reported Saturday night in Fairview.
The victim is a 23-year-old man who died of "apparent gunshot wounds," said Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
Fairview police officers went to a 4th Street apartment at about 8 p.m. Saturday based on information that a shooting may have happened there, Musella said.

Officers found the man in the apartment. No other victims were found there, the prosecutor said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, the Fairview Police Department, and Bergen County Sheriff's Department are investigating the homicide.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Musella said.
Musella did not release any further information.
A man who lived across the street from where the shooting occurred said he and his wife were walking their dogs Saturday at about 6:45 p.m. when they heard what sounded like three gunshots, NorthJersey.com reported. He also said he noticed three unfamiliar people on the block while he was out with the dogs, according to the report.
