QuickChek Opening On Route 17 In Mahwah Tuesday

The 24-hour store and gas station is geared for millennials with its custom-order food options and phone and laptop charging stations.

MAHWAH, NJ — QuickChek will open a 24-hour convenience store and gas station on Route 17 South Tuesday.

The 5,000-square-foot store was designed with millennials in mind. It will have counters with laptop and cell phone charging stations, feature a variety of fresh brewed hot, iced, and cold-brew coffees, lattes, and espressos, and made-to-order breakfast items, sub sandwiches, wraps and salads.

There will also be indoor seating with laptop and cell phone charging stations, an ATM, outdoor seating, and 16 gas pumps.

"We serve busy people on the go with products and services that are made for immediate consumption," said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. "Today’s consumer, especially young professionals, families and health-conscious people, want fresh. So we have dedicated more than half of the store to food service and fresh beverages, including our guaranteed fresh brewed hot and iced coffees. The new store layout will also enhance our customer’s shopping experience."

The store will employ 45 people, including eight managers. It is expected to generate $1 million in tax revenues.

QuickChek will donate $.25 cents for every sub, sandwich and wrap sold through Aug. 14 to the Gorilla Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.

Customers can get free hot or iced coffee until July 28. The store also has a coffee rewards program.

Family-owned QuickChek has 159 stores in New Jersey, the Hudson Valley in New York, and Long Island. The company has opened 30 new stores since 2015, including four in the past six months.
