'Smash Hit' Popup Burger Joint Lands Permanent Location In Bergen Co.

Eighty Twenty, which serves a version of the traditional hamburger called the "smasher," has permanently set up shop in Bergen County.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An acclaimed pop-up hamburger joint has landed a permanent location in Bergen County.

Eighty Twenty, which serves a variation of the traditional hamburger called the "smasher," has given its burger a permanent platform inside B&S Kitchen at 48 Westwood Avenue in Westwood.

The smasher, which some have said is the best burger they ever had, is beef smothered on a griddle, with cooked onions and American cheese, and served on a Martin's potato roll.

"We're smashing hard to bring you the best burgers," Eighty Twenty said on social media.

Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Eighty Twenty said that the public's support since the opening has been humbling, and that the restaurant "can't wait" to share all that is planned for 2023.

"Thank you to everyone who came through for our first weekend in Westwood," the restaurant said of its late 2022 opening. "It was amazing to see so many new and old faces."

Not only are the the burgers highly praised among foodies and locals alike, but so also are the fries, onion rings, cheese curds and churros.

"I am actually still dreaming about eating the food," food and travel Instagram account @foooodgalore said. "I would 100% recommend going here. I know damn sure their business because the food... delicious."
