Trash Pick-Up Down to Once-a-Week

Residents in the township will be making one less trip to the curbside this week, thanks to a seasonal change in Mahwah’s trash collection policy that’s set to take hold Tuesday.

October 1 will mark the return to Mahwah’s fall and winter schedule for garbage pick-up.

According to a reminder posted on the township website, the reinstated once-a-week trash pick-up schedule will begin Tuesday. Once-a-week pick-up will continue through March 31, 2014.

A township policy passed last year mandate twice-a-week pick-up during the warmer months, April through September, and twice-a-week during the colder months.
