Wanted Man Leads Police On Chase In Stolen Vehicle In Bergen Co.: Cops
A man wanted for a string of robberies led police on a chase that ended in a crash on the exit ramp from a highway, police said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A wanted man in a stolen Audi fled police in a speedy car chase that ended in crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, police Lt. Raymond Walter said.
Joshua Alcantara, 30, sped away from Englewood police who tried to pull him over about 2:50 a.m. Monday, Walter said.
His getaway attempt was foiled by a northbound exit ramp, where officers found him and the crashed Audi minutes later, police said.

Alcantara tried to run away but was caught and taken to Parkway Interstate Parkway Police Headquarters, Walter said.
The Newark man is suspected of committing several Belleville burglaries that include ATM theft, officials said.

He was taken to Parkway Interstate Parkway Police Headquarters, where he was charged with receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice and hindering prosecution, officials said. He was released on a criminal complaint summons pending a court hearing, police said.
The Audi was stolen out of Lyndhurst, police said.
