Winter Storm Hektor Forces Mahwah Public School District to Have Delayed Opening
The delayed opening comes after forecasts say New Jersey will be hit with freezing rain, sleet and snow Sunday night into Monday morning.

The Mahwah Township Public School District will follow a two-hour delay schedule for Monday, Jan. 12 after forecasts say Winter Storm Hektor will slam New Jersey with freezing rain, sleet and snow Sunday night into the Monday morning commute.
The National Weather Service issued both a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Winter Weather Advisory for much of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, saying a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will arrive on Sunday night and Monday morning.
The snow and sleet will change over to plain rain before it may change back briefly to a snow-and-sleet mixture monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
