$25,000 Jewelry Heist Reported At Englishtown Auction In Manalapan
Police say a vendor at Englishtown Auction reported the theft of $25,000 in jewelry on Feb. 5.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A tray of assorted jewelry, valued at approximately $25,000, was stolen Feb. 5 from a business located inside the Englishtown Auction, police said in a weekly crime report.
Police said the owner of the business, from Staten Island, reported the loss. The Englishtown Auction is at 90 Wilson Ave. in Manalapan.
Shoplifting continued, too, at two large stores that reported such losses just the week before:

- Employees of Wegman's, Route 9, told police someone took merchandise valued at $394.46 from the store on Sunday, Feb. 5, police said.
- Employees of BestBuy, Route 9, told police someone took about $4,076.52 in merchandise from the store on Jan. 29 without paying for it.
A resident also made a report on Feb. 2 of the loss of $2,000 from a checking account through fraud.
All the incidents are being investigated by police.
