$65,000 In Designer Handbags Stolen From Manalapan Store
Manalapan police said $65,490 worth of high-end handbags were shoplifted from House of Luxe in Manalapan.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Shoplifting reached new heights when a designer handbag store in the township reported the loss of $65,490 in merchandise, police reported.
On Tuesday, April 11, employees of House of Luxe on Route 9 told police that persons unknown to them shoplifted the items and then "used force" while fleeing the store.
Deputy Chief Leonard Maltese said Monday that no injuries were reported.

He said the items stolen appeared to be "high-end handbags." According to its social media sites, the store sells not only handbags, but other designer accessories and shoes, such as Chanel rain boots.
Patrolman Michael DeCristofaro handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

House of Luxe, according to its Facebook site, just celebrated its first anniversary in March.
It refers to the store profile as a "high-end, luxury resell boutique that specializes in highly sought after, coveted pieces available at a premium price."
The store is licensed by the state of New Jersey to legally resell its products, its site says.
