Car Struck Tree on Route 9 North, Driver Extracted
This crash is currently under investigation by Manalapan police and charges are pending.

A car reportedly struck a tree while traveling at a high speed near Route 9 North just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, police said.
Manalapan police located a green 1993 BMW M3 just outside the woods treeline. The car had extensive front end damage as a result of the collision with the tree, which was struck on the driver’s side of the vehicle, according to police.
The driver, Edward McCrea, of Brick, was entrapped in the vehicle and suffered multiple injuries. McCrea, 27, was extracted from the damaged vehicle by members of the Gordons Corner Fire Company. He was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, the exten of which was not revealed.
A witness of the crash told police that the car was being driven at a high speed just prior to exiting the highway and colliding with the tree.
