Couple Reportedly Steals Pricey Display Cell Phone from Store

The phone is valued at $544.

A couple reportedly stole a cell phone from an unidentified cell phone store on Route 9 in Manalapan, according to police.

An employee of the store told police that he believed that a man distracted him while a woman removed the display model Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone and replaced it with a used model of the same type of cell phone. The phone is valued at $544.

Based on video surveillance footage, police describe the male suspect as black, about 30-years-old, with a stocky build and about 6 feet tall. The female suspect is also black, about 30-years-old, with shoulder length black hair, about 5'8" tall, and possibly pregnant.

The theft occurred on Thursday, Feb. 28 at around 6 p.m. and is still under investigation by the Manalapan Police Department.
