Fraud, Shoplifting, Theft: Manalapan Police Blotter

Five fraud incidents were reported to Manalapan Police from Aug. 7 through Aug. 13.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported multiple incidents of fraud, shoplifting, theft and more from Aug. 7 through Aug. 13.

Aug. 7

Officer Hope Barina arrested Ralph Guccione, 59, New York, at the Target on Route 9 and he was charged with shoplifting, and hindering his own arrest. Guccione was transported to the Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released without posting bail.

Patrolman Marshall Bitsko arrested Barbara Capone, 69, of New York and she was charged with shoplifting from the same Target on Route 9. Capone was transported to Manalapan Police Headquarters where she was processed and released without posting bail.

Aug. 8
At 49-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone stole $250 from their bank account.

A 65-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were being threatened by a neighbor.

Aug. 9

Employees of the Wawa at 345 Union Hill Road in Manalapan reported that someone placed a credit card skimmer on a register inside the store. The incident is pending further investigation.

Aug. 10
A Freehold resident, 56, reported being assaulted by a customer while shopping at the Englishtown Auction at 90 Wilson Ave. in Manalapan.

Another Freehold resident, 67, reported being assaulted by a vendor while shopping at the same Englishtown Auction a short time later.

Aug. 11
Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo took custody of Placida Quispe-Huaman, 33, of Paterson, on a warrant that was issued for her arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Quispe-Huaman was processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

A Manalapan resident, 62, reported that unknown actors trespassed on a Highland Ridge Road property.

Aug. 12
A member of the Gordons Corner Fire Company reported that unknown actors unsuccessfully tried to withdraw funds from the organization's bank account.

A Manalapan resident, 51, reported being harassed by an ex-employee via text message and email.

A Manalapan resident, 78, reported being defrauded of $29,500 in cryptocurrency.

Aug. 13
Unknown individuals burglarized the Pantry 1 Foodmart on Route 9 and stole an undetermined amount.

A Manalapan resident, 67, reported that unknown individuals stole a license plate from their vehicle.

A Manalapan resident, 71, reported that unknown individuals fraudulently withdrew $3,982.69 from their bank account.

Aug. 14
Employees of the Home Sense located on Route 9 reported that an unknown individual shoplifted items costing $2,649.93. Shortly after, employees of the same Home Sense reported an unknown individual shoplifting items that cost $499.99. Both incidents are pending further investigation.
