Manalapan Police Department Now Hiring: What To Know
The department is accepting applications for full-time and SLEO II police officers now through Sept. 22.

MANALAPAN, NJ — The Manalapan Township Police Department has officially opened its hiring process for full-time and SLEO II police officers, the department recently announced.
In order to apply for the open positions, the minimum qualifications include:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be a resident of New Jersey at the time of employment
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be sound in body, of good health, and able to perform the physical functions of the duties assigned
- Must be of good moral character and not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty that would make the applicant unfit to perform the duties of a police officer
- A minimum of 60 college credits or at least two years of honorable U.S. military service
“The goal of the Manalapan Township hiring and recruitment policy is to establish a fair and consistent process for recruiting and selecting the most qualified candidates for employment,” the department said on its website. “This process will include a mechanism to maximize the ethnic, gender, and racial composition of the police department staff so that it better represents the demographic composition of the Township of Manalapan.”

To apply, applicants must visit the Manalapan Township Police Department website and follow the instructions, ensuring all paperwork is filled out in its entirety.
Applications must be returned in person at the Manalapan Township Police Department HQ (located at 120 CR 522, Manalapan) no later than 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22. No applications will be accepted after the closing date and time.

Physical agility tests will take place on Oct. 4, according to the department's Facebook page.
