Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration In Manalapan Honors His Legacy

Manalapan Township will host its Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at a breakfast, musical event Monday.

MANALAPAN, NJ — To honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the township will hold its annual Martin Luther King Celebration with guest speakers and music.

The event, presented by Mayor Susan Cohen and the Township Committee, will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, at Manalapan Town Hall.

The national holiday is dedicated to King, a civil rights icon who was assassinated in 1968.

The event is held in partnership with St. James AME Church, and the keynote speaker is Pastor Rev. Julian LaRosa Cooper.

The invocation will be by Bishop Fred Rubin, Community Refuge Church in Manalapan.

There will be music presented and a continental breakfast available.

There will be music by R&B artist Parker J., and by violinist Laticia Lewis.

The Town Hall Offices will be closed on Monday, however the building will be open for this celebration.
