Shoplifting Reported At Big Stores In Manalapan, Police Say
Wegman's, Best Buy report shoplifting incidents in Manalapan.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Shoplifting in some hefty amounts was reported to Manalapan police recently. And its happening in major store chains.
Here are the incidents as provided by the Police Department:
- On Jan. 30, employees of Best Buy, 15 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that someone removed merchandise valued at $1,066 from the business without paying for it. Officer Peter Pagano prepared the report.
- Loss prevention employees of the Wegman’s Supermarket, 55 Route 9 South, reported that on Jan. 23 someone exited the store without paying for merchandise valued at $2,970. Officer Mantas Stanionis prepared the report.
A break-in in a residence was also reported:

- On Jan. 26, a 40-year-old township resident reported that someone forcibly entered a rear door of a Mulberry Drive residence and removed various items of undetermined value. Officer Valerie Vacchiano prepared the report.
All incidents are being investigated.
