Theft Of $4K In Copper Wire Reported in Manalapan: Police

Manalapan police reported the theft of copper wire from a housing site in Manalapan earlier this month.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Copper wire, valued at approximately $4,400, was stolen from a township development site earlier this month.

On March 8, an employee of The Regency at Manalapan, Sofia Drive, reported the theft took place sometime between March 7 and March 8.

There was also a report by an employee of The Regency at Manalapan that someone removed an outdoor television, of unknown value, between the dates of March 7 and March 8, police said.

Patrol Officer Jean Letts handled both reports, which are pending further investigation.

In its regular report of other crimes in the township, police reported the following fraud or fraud attempts:

  • On Tuesday, March 14, a Manalapan resident, 57, told police that personal information was used by someone to open a Direct TV account, which has an outstanding balance of $968.
  • On March 12, a Freehold Township resident, 62, told police that a former employee was fraudulently using the victim’s business license.
  • On March 11, a Manalapan resident, 75, told police that someone attempted to defraud him of $18,000 via an internet scam. There was no monetary loss, however.

All incidents are being investigated.
