Traffic Stop Leads To Marijuana Bust In Manalapan
Two New York men, stopped on Route 9 in Manalapan, had more than five pounds of pot, police say.
MANALAPAN, NJ — A traffic stop by police led to the arrest of two men, found with more than five pounds of marijuana and over $11,000 in cash, police said.
Patrolman James Guarino made the motor vehicle stop on Route 9 in Manalapan at about 1 a.m. on Feb. 14.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Bruce Alvarez, 23, of Brooklyn, NY, and the passenger, Juan Pablo Martinez, 23, Ozone Park, NY, were found to be in possession of over five pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $11,612.00 in cash, police said.

Alvarez and Martinez were placed under arrest, charged with manufacturing, distributing or dispensing marijuana (over five pounds), according to police.
They were taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, pending a court hearing.
