2 Homes Destroyed, Others Damaged In Belmar Fire

The fire broke out on the porch of a 13th Avenue home Sunday morning, Monmouth County Fire Marshal Fred Migliaccio said.

BELMAR, NJ — Two homes were destroyed, and at least two others were damaged by a porch fire that broke out on 13th Avenue over the weekend, Monmouth County Fire Marshal Fred Migliaccio confirmed.

The fire started Sunday morning on the porch of a home at 306 13th Avenue.

Two firefighters suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening, and one homeowner suffered minor burns, Migliaccio said.

Members of Belmar’s Volunteer Hook & Ladder Fire Company were among those who responded to the scene and operated for around four hours before being released.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Belmar Fire Bureau and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire company said.
