Barbara Catherine Lund Of Manasquan Dies At 80

Services for longtime resident will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

Barbara Catherine Lund, 80, of Manasquan. On April 16, 2016, the love of our lives passed. Barbara was a loving, caring, compassionate, and talented woman who always brought warmth to others with her smile and cheerfulness. The memory of her love for us will continue indefinitely and our love for her will last forever. She will be a great addition to Heaven and a great loss for us on earth.

Barbara was born in Roslyn, NY on November 15, 1935 to the late Michael and Nellie Bastock. Her family moved to Levittown, PA where she completed high school and studied X-Ray radiology. After completing her education, Barbara relocated to Point Pleasant and was employed by the Point Pleasant Hospital as an X-Ray Technician.

Barbara married Ted Lund on May 9, 1970 and they settled in Manasquan. While raising her sons, Barbara was employed at the Manasquan Elementary School (MES), Manasquan High School (MHS) and at NJ Diagnostics. Additionally, Barbara was active in her community, and participated in both the MES PTO and MHS Big Blue Boosters.

Along with her husband she is survived by son, Ted and his wife Kate; son, Geoff and his wife Laura; four grandchildren, William, Brady, Madeline, and Abigail; and her sister, Penny Bastock. Barbara's parents and her sister, Mildred Whitley, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Homeat 39 South Street in Manasquan. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Denis Church in Manasquan.

Entombment will follow at St. Catharine Cemetery in Wall Twp.
