Some strong to severe thunderstorms with locally damaging winds and heavy rain are possible today through tonight. The lightning threat is high.
The rip current risk today is low, but rips can still occur near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests bringing a flotation device with you in the water.

Waves will be three feet, with southerly swells of three feet. The ocean water temperature is 70 degrees. The ultraviolet index is a 7, which the NWS considers high, despite the cloud cover.
Low tide at Belmar rolled in at 5:17 a.m. High tide will arrive at 11:39 a.m., followed by another high tide at 11:51 p.m.
