Cloudy Skies, Cool Temperatures At Monmouth County Beaches Today

The day will start out cloudy, with patches of fog, but skies will become partly sunny later, the National Weather Service says.

Highs will only be in the upper 70s. There's a slight chance of showers. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 miles per hour.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents today, so be careful to check with your local beach patrol first before heading into the surf. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or a night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you when you go into the water.

Waves will be 4 feet high, with southerly swells of 2 to three feet. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees

The ultraviolet index is a 3, which the NWS considers moderate. There is no lightning threat today.

High tide at Belmar rolled in at 8:24 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 2:28 p.m., followed by another high tide at 8:36 p.m.
